Before he became the professional boxer, Shavkat was a champion of Tajikistan, a finalist of the World Cup among oil-producing countries in 2014, participated in the World Cup in 2013 and reached the ⅛ final.
On June 12, 2015 Shavkat Rakhimov for the first time appeared on the professional ring in the bout with Visit Gairabekov and won in the second round by a TKO.
Then the boxer held a series of successful fights and in September, 2016 met in a bout with Farhod Oripov at the international gala event in the city of Chelyabinsk and also won by a TKO in the second round
On November,18 2016 there took place a fight for the vacant WBO Youth Intercontinental title (up to 59 kg): Shavkat Rakhimov (6-0, 4 KO) from Yekaterinburg vs Jerry Kastroverdo (9-3, 5 KO) from Sebu. In this bout Shavkat defeated by a technical knock-out in the 5th round and won WBO Youth title in the weight category up to 59 kg.
On December, 17 2016 in Yekaterinburg Shavkat conducted the first defend of his WBO Youth Intercontinental title in one card with Alexander Povetkin against Ronald Aldei (10-3-1, 4 KO) from the Philippines. In this fight Shavkat won having knocked down his rival in the second round.
On February, 18 2017 in Chelyabinsk Shavkat took part in a bout for the vacant WBC Eurasia Pacific Boxing Council super featherweight title (up to 59 kg) in which he fought with experienced Filipino boxer Rogelio Doligues Jr. Rakhimov took the advantage from the first round, chose the distance properly and attacked effectively. During the bout his advantage only increased and in the 5th round the boxer from Yekaterinburg attacked effectively and knocked down his rival and the latter failed to continue the bout till the referee ended to count. Shavkat Rakhimov won by a technical knockout.
In the childhood he did boxing, running, volleyball, basketball, however at the age of 11 he chose in favor of boxing.
