Mark was born in the town of Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk region. A role-model to him was his father, Candidate in Masters of Sports in hand-to-hand fight, who took his son to the boxing sport class.

In amateur boxing Mark achieved a lot: we was a multiple winner of Sverdlovsk region and Ural Federal District championships, participant in Russian championships and winner of international tournaments. 

His first fight on a professional level was on April 24, 2015 in the city of Yekaterinburg. His rival was Mikhail Alexeev, for whom the fight was also a debut. The fight continued all rounds and referees gave the victory to Mikhail Alexeev. This fight was considered as the most spectacular in the tournament.

On February 27, 2016 Mark Urvanov appeared in the boxing ring against journeyman Alexey Shorohov. Urvanov was by times better than his rival and had a lot of opportunities to end up the fight until the last round. But his competitor made it to the final gong and Urvanov won on points by a unanimous decision of referees and became The Champion of Russia.

On September 17, 2016 Mark participated in a fight with Azerbaijanian Raug Aghayev for 2 vacant WBC titles – Champion of Europe and Asia. In the last 10 round Aghayev was knocked down and lost the fight.

On February, 18 2017 Mark Urvanov’s rival was Russian boxer from Saint-Petersburg Alexander Saltykov. For young Urvanov it was not difficult to defeat more experienced and aged Saltykov – technical knock-out in the 3rd round.

On March,25 2017 in the main bout of the evening in Pervouralsk there took place a fight between Mark Urvanov and Glenn Enterina from the Philippines. Ural boxer was a winner in spite of the fact that this bout was extremely hard for him. Thus, the 20-year-old sportsman made one more step above in his professional career.

In the first half of the 10-round bout Urvanov looked confidently and seriously punched his rival several times. However, closer to the end Glenn Enterina took the advantage and in the 10th round he even knocked down Urvanov. Though Mark managed to stand up and fight till the final gong. As a result by unanimous decision of judges victory was given to the boxer from Pervouralsk.
